Analytical Chemist - Train and Place Trainee

Train and Place is an initiative jointly supported by Workforce Singapore (WSG) and Singapore Polytechnic (SP) and is aimed at building a pipeline of skilled manpower for Singapore’s biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry in anticipation of hiring demand.  
 
The training programme consists of a 3-months structured facilitated training conducted by SP, followed by 15 months of local attachment with GSK. 

What you will do 

  • To assist the Laboratory Operations Manager to manage the infrastructure and support aspects of the Laboratory to ensure that the systems in place are compliant with defined quality requirements.  
  • To ensure that all value stream specific process raw materials, non-routine samples, envops, intermediates and final products are properly analysed and the results recorded in full compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) and regulatory requirements that meet the defined quality standards.  
  • To ensure that all investigational samples or evaluation samples are analysed and results recorded in full compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) and regulatory requirements that meet the defined quality standards.  
  • To ensure all new methods and specifications introduced as part of new product introduction or product lifecycle are validated or verified in compliance with defined quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Learn about current Good Manufacturing Practice and Good Documentation Practice and also the technical standards pertaining to Data Integrity.  
  • Lean Sigma tools as part of CI  
  • Basic SAP, and LIMS transactions  
  • Chromatographic integration review and other techniques data review to support batch release decision.  
  • Laboratory Safety  
  • Laboratory investigation and Deviation management  
  • Periodic Product Review  
  • Pharmacopeia and Corporate analytical standards 
  • Internal Business Monitoring process and audit support  

Required Skills and Abilities 

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemistry/ Biochemistry/Chemical 
  • Good written and oral communication skills 
  • Problem solving skills. 
  • Having worked in a chemistry lab is an added advantage.
