Exciting minds with our Future Leaders graduate programme - Supply Chain - Mechanical Engineer. 

  • Education required – Engineering Degree with specialization in Mechanical. 
  • Assessment center dates - October or November 2021.
  • Other requirements - Written and spoken fluency in English.

We’re looking for leaders of the future in Engineering:

Are you a capable engineering graduate with the skills to develop robust, leading-edge manufacturing technologies? If so, you could help create the systems we need to make treatments that save lives.

Our talented teams include Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Biopharmaceutical, Automation & Instrumentation Engineers. They ensure we have the latest technology and processes to deliver billions of packs of medicines to customers every year. 

Programme Information:

If you are a graduate with the talent and ambition to lead others, we will help you develop the expertise to become one of our Future Leaders.

Over three years, our Future Leaders graduate programme will challenge and support you to grow professionally and personally. You will have three challenging rotations in business-critical roles within Pharmaceutical Supply Chain.  

Your responsibilities will depend on your engineering discipline, but whatever your specialized area, you will meet leaders and network with other graduates. You will also improve your technical skills while gaining valuable leadership expertise.

Short Kaizen (up to six weeks) opportunities may exist for high performing graduates where business need and development opportunity are identified

What You Will Do

At GSK you will be working at Manufacturing Sites that supply medicines to patients around the world.

As an Engineering graduate you will be part of the Engineering department involved in ensuring the production facilities at these sites operate reliably and compliantly. You can expect to develop your knowledge and gain experience in: 

  • Projects managing new equipment from design, factory acceptance testing, installation and validation.
  • Asset management and maintenance (condition-based monitoring, predictive maintenance, data analysis etc.).
  • Increasing manufacturing efficiencies through improved equipment performance, reliability, and safety systems.
  • Providing day-to-day support for equipment issues, trouble-shooting breakdowns and risk assessments for maintenance tasks.
  • Energy management, environmental sustainability and cost improvement projects.
  • Working with an engineering team to support multi-skilled technicians and operators. 

Through this you will gain hands-on knowledge of technology, the business and the role Engineers play in supplying medicines to our patients.

You’ll need:

Our Future Leaders programme is designed to accelerate the development of graduates who do not have significant previous professional work experience in the area to which they are applying.  Of course, many graduates who join the programme have worked while studying or after graduation.   

If you have already developed substantial experience working in a professional role in your sector, while you would be able to apply for this programme, you may also want to look at direct entry roles in our businesses, as these may be the best way to build on your existing skills and expertise and develop a career at GSK.
