Milken Institute 2018 Asia Internship Program

The Programme

The Milken Institute Asia Internship Program is an 8-16 week program that aims to cultivate the next generation of leaders determined to tackle issues that shape the global agenda. Now in its second year, the internship program is tailored with the intent to advance each intern’s professional as well as personal development. For each intern selected to enter this exclusive program, the Milken Institute will create a customized experience with an agreed project (complete with objectives, timelines, and milestones) that builds on the intern’s area of interest and career trajectory.

What you will do

Selecting a Project

Before the internship starts, the Program Coordinator will discuss with the intern about his/her areas of interest and career goals in order to design a program that builds their experience to fulfill big picture career objectives. Broadly, there are projects and roles available in Business and Program Development, Communications, and Research; depending on the intern’s interests and goals, they may be focused on one or a combination of these roles.

Training and Mentorship

The program begins with briefing sessions that covers the entire scope and breadth of the Institute’s work and mission. The interns will be well informed on the work of economic think tanks and their role in advancing regional and industry issues, preparing them to make their own meaningful impact.

Experience and Exposure to Leaders

As part of the internship program, interns will have the opportunity once a week to have an intimate group lunch with an industry leader who will provide practical and relevant knowledge in addition to career insights on a wide range of topics - such as FinTech, asset management, investment banking, philanthropy, and more.

Camaraderie and Friendships

The program is designed for ultimate interaction between interns and full time staffers, not only through day-to-day work and long-term projects, but also organized social activities and teambuilding events. By the end of the program, interns will have built not only a solid hands-on work experience and professional training in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment, but also have established meaningful relationships that can be source of guidance for the future.
