TRAINEE: Cross Asset Distribution Sales Assistant

RESPONSIBILITIES

Overview of business line/support function:

The Trainee is mainly responsible for supporting the adviosry business activities of the Cross Asset Distribution Sales Teams - Private Banks & Hong Kong Distribution. The job holder is to provide support on administrative tasks, pre and post trade administrations, reconciling trade details, drafting documentation, automate repetitive work process and other ad hoc tasks/projects as necessary.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work with Sales team on a day to day basis and assist them to provide services for clients
  • Draft & Review Term Sheets, Info Sheets, Supplementary Distribution Agreements, Pre-Confirmations, Presentations etc. 
  • Check credit lines prior to trade execution and ensure requisite approvals are obtained where necessary
  • Reconcile trade details with clients, traders, middle and back offices.  Liaise internally with different parties (Legal, Operations, Client Support, Valuation, and Trading)
  • Maintain a comprehensive record of executed trades 
  • Coordinate after-sales services for clients including issues related to settlement , valuations publication etc.
  • Automate the recurring workload in existing platforms

PROFILE REQUIRED

  • Hold a relevant Bachelors or Masters degree in Mathematics, IT, Finance & Banking or similar
  • Display of innovation, team spirit and time management
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, must be detail-oriented and proficient with numbers
  • Able to work under pressure and quick on the feet
  • A team player that is self-motivated and has a positive attitude and able to work independently
  • Good IT programming skills is preferred
  • Experience in investment banking, especially Equities, Fixed Income & Foreign Exchange, is a plus
  • Fluent English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonsese) is mandatory

This is a fixed term 12 month Trainee contract with Societe Generale. You will form part of the team on a full time basis. In order to apply for the Trainee position please ensure you have completed your qualification and will be available to work full time for the duration of the Trainee contract.

Department Description

The Cross Asset Solution sales team services Hong Kong and Singapore Private Banks, as well as Hong Kong retail banks, securities and EAMs.  The Advisory team provides investment ideas, products and services across all asset classes, including, equities, interest rates, commodities, credit, foreign exchange, funds and bespoke indices.
