Masters Degree in Mathematics\nI am a final year MMath student at Loughborough University where I am studying Functional Analysis, Numerical Methods and Programming, Non-linear Waves, Lie Algebra and Fluid Mechanics. The subject of my final dissertation project is Simultaneous Diagonalisation of Symmetric Matrices.\n\nJapanese studies\nThe year-long international studies component of the MMath course was taken at Kansai University in Osaka, Japan, where I studied language, culture and history as well as a mathematics module. I am proficient in Japanese language and culture. At Kansai, I was part of their international student programme and I remain in touch with many international students, as well as local Japanese students. While there I taught English privately to children intending to enter mainstream education in the UK and USA.\n\nOrganisations\nDuring my time at Loughborough I have been actively involved in running a wide range of student societies. I was Chair of the Progressive Forum Society, which organised guest speakers to introduce topics and spark discussions about society and global culture.\n\nI was Treasurer of the Ballroom and Latin American Dance Society, and the Anime Society and a projectionist for Flix, the student cinema.\n\nInterests\nI have a wide range of interests including music, films, sport, current affairs, new technologies and global trends. I am a keen cyclist and have taken part in a sponsored cycle from London to Paris in aid of Crohn\u2019s and Colitis UK. I love cinema. I am a musician and have been a pianist for Loughborough Unversity Jazz Band.
